What is Screenwriting Pro?

Screenwriting Pro is web-based professional screenplay formatting software for feature films, television and stage plays. It has all the elements of boxed scriptwriting software, including Industry-Standard formatting, story development tools and a library of templates, with the added benefit of working online from any Internet-connected computer.

What can I do with Screenwriting Pro?

What are the system requirements?

Since Screenwriting Pro is a web-based application, you can access your script from any Internet-connected computer, anywhere in the world. That means it works with both Windows and Macs, and on any Internet browser. Screenwriting Pro does recommend Firefox for optimum performance.

What if I don't have access to the internet, but I need to continue working on my script?

With Screenwriting Pro's desktop companion, it's easy to work on your script offline. Simply choose the "work offline" option, and resume work on your script. The next time you log in to the Screenwriting Pro site, one click syncs your desktop work with your online account.

Do I need to have an account to use Screenwriting Pro?

Yes. Because Screenwriting Pro is an online application, you must have an account to access its many features. Your password-protected account also allows for your script to be stored on our completely secure site.

How do I contact Technical Support?

Security and Storage

Is it safe for my script to be stored online?

We at Screenwriting Pro understand your concerns about online security. Your privacy is our number one priority, and that's why we've created a site that takes advantage of some of the most sophisticated web security available.

Who has access to my script?

Only you have access to your screenplay, which is completely secure in your password-protected account. Because your login credentials are unique, no one, not even the Screenwriting Pro team, can access your private documents.

How much storage space do I have?

You have unlimited storage capabilities at Screenwriting Pro.

Can I save my files locally?

Yes. Screenwriting Pro documents can be saved on your hard drive in many formats, including XML, RTF, PDF and Final Draft 8.

Can I work on an existing script in Screenwriting Pro?

Yes. Simply save your script in an accepted file format (see above) and use Screenwriting Pro's familiar word processing capabilities to open your existing document.

How can I print and share my scripts?

Screenwriting Pro prints your Industry-standard formatted script exactly as you created it on screen from within the program. You can also save your document as a secure PDF file to e-mail to others for reading and printing.

Beta Phase

What is a beta phase?

When software and/or a website is in the beta period, it means that it has passed the initial internal phase of trials (called alpha) and is ready to be tested by a select audience before its official release to the general public.

Does the beta version of Screenwriting Pro have any limitations?

No. Beta users have access to the full suite of tools available on ScreenwritingPro.com without any limitations.

How do I sign up?

Visit the Screenwriting Pro Sign Up page, and skip steps 1 and 3. You will only need to complete step 2 to create a beta account with Screenwriting Pro.

How much does it cost?

You can sign up for an account absolutely free during this testing phase. As an added thank you for your early interest, you'll also receive an additional 6 months free after Screenwriting Pro exits beta.

What do I need to do as a beta tester?

Simply use Screenwriting Pro as you would any screenplay formatting software. We encourage you to provide feedback and comments on your experience through our Contact page.

What happens after the beta phase?

Any work you create on Screenwriting Pro is completely protected and will be available to you after the beta phase ends. You'll have the option to select from a series of flexible payment plans once your free trial ends, to ensure uninterrupted service. You won't pay a thing if you decide to terminate your Screenwriting Pro account.
